It started out good with the Easter Party across the street. Able to chat while the kids played games. The weather was great.
Then we got home... Leaned down to give Caroline a kiss on the forehead and thought she felt a little warm - 100.9. She seemed fine, but gave her some Motrin. Next morning. Still a small fever. Nothing too major. Went for a little walk with Caroline, stopped at the neighbors, small group gathers to discuss the rainbow house next door (it is currently mustard yellow with canned pea green and plum trim with the scroll work at the top of the peak white, rumor is the door will be burgundy), Matt joins with Owen who just woke up from a nap. Let kids play in back for awhile while we chat then gather up to head home. Lean down to give Owen a kiss and he feels warm. Yup, 99.9, not too bad. Wait to bedtime and give Caroline and Owen Motrin. Watch Slumdog Millionaire and go to bed. Hear Owen screaming and then quiet at 3:03, but not quite quiet. Tell Matt he is having a seizure. Run upstairs behind Matt who thankfully takes over and keeps Owen on his side and talks to him while I time it on the clock. It ends we pick him up to comfort him, but all he does is instantly go back to deep sleep. Seems off. We try to wake him and all he does is scream with his eyes closed then back to sleep. Call doctor office and they tell us to go to er since we cannot get him to respond or wake at all. Matt says he will take him (he does so much better in stressful situations) and has him in the triage (103 temp) in less then 10 minutes (got to love the er valet). They do flu and strep test, chest xray and blood work. He does have a very small ear infection so they give some iv antibotics. Everything else seems fine. They get home at 6:45 with doughnuts and a sleepy boy.
Last night ran a fever (103.9) even while doubling up on Motrin and Tylenol. Went into the doctors for a follow-up and everything seems fine, but still running a small fever during the day. I am expecting another rough night tonight, but hopeful for a good day tomorrow. Maybe?
